Lychakivskyi District Court of Lviv has extended the arrest of Ukrainian MP Viktor Medvedchuk until August 9

That's according to a court ruling of June 9, Ukrinform reports.

The judge thus granted the prosecutor's request to extend the measure of restraint in the form of detention for 60 days, until August 9, 2022, without determining the amount of bail.

In May 2021, Medvedchuk was placed under round-the-clock house arrest in the case of treason, violation of the laws of war and plundering of state property in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

On February 27, it emerged that Medvedchuk had escaped from house arrest.

On April 12, in a special operation conducted by Ukraine's SBU State Security Service, the MP was detained.

On April 13, Lviv's Lychakivskyi District Court seized 154 assets of Medvedchuk and his wife, Oksana Marchenko.
